The movie trailer I decided to analyise was the Possession, Its abouot a girl who becomes possessed by a demon in a box. The movie trailer goes through all the of the main parts in the movie showing you what will happen but not spoiling the movie by giving away what happens in the end and if the equilibrium is restored. The trailer starts of with the family all moving in to a new house and being very happy, at this point the equilibrium is perfectly in tact. this all changes soon when the family go to a 'yard/garage' sale and buy this very old box which looks very suspicious, again at this point the trailer still is giving nothing away which is very gripping and keeps you watching. At this point the trailer really starts to get into the main story line. we go through alot of fast moving camera shots and editing. this all helps build up tension and make the story more frightening and believable. As the girl becomes more and more possessed more people start to die and this is shown in the trailer. Overall i think the trailer is a very good trailer as its very griping and drags the viewer in and would make you watch the movie. The sound on the trailer is very good as we have parts of quite or little noise and other parts of music in the background and heavy diagetic sounds, this again all adds to the horror factor of the trailer. The only problem i find with this trailer is that it gives to much away for a horror trailer, the whole point about a horror trailer is that its suppossed to really drag you in but really not give much away and i feel that this horror trailer just gives to much away. Its still a very good movie trailer but after watching the trailer i just feel asif i have watched the whole movie already and there isnt much more for me to find out. all that i dont know is the ending and if the equilibruim is restored or not? But overall i still think its a very good trailer and i would still go and see it after watching the trailer.
