Analysis of horror character

This is 'IT' or Pennywise from the film 'It' by Steven King. The movie is about a 'predatory life form' who can transform into anyones worst nightmares and fears but mainly takes the role of this clown called pennywise. This clown stalks this group of children and tries to kill them several times. The children set out to defeat pennywise and do. But this movie is set in two times and the second part of the movie is when the group of children are adults and they thought pennywise was gone but he has come back to kill them.

I like Pennywise for two main reasons. The first reason is because he can take the form of any creature just to scare the children. I think this is a very clever idea that hasn't really been explored in much detail or used in any other movies, at one point in the movie he transforms into one of the children's father and starts to torment him with balloons eventually he turns back into the clown and tries to kill him. The second main reason why i like Pennywise is because he bases himself as a clown and this is very clever because clowns are of course a funny and loving character someone that children love and admire, so this works well because he looks perfectly like a clown and uses that bond that children have with clowns to lure them in and eventually kill them. Everything about him is just like a clown he has the red nose, the white face, and the multi-coloured baggy clown suit but only when the actual evil in him comes out he changes, but not much all that changes is his eyes go red and his teeth turn into fangs almost.

Pennywise is also very different for other reasons and this is why i admire him. For example most horror movies have all of there killings during the night and all of the scary parts during the night but a lot if not the majority of the horror scenes in this movie happen in daylight and out in the open. This is clever because it goes against the usual stereotypical horror aspect of having the horror in the dark at night. This movie really tries to make people believe that it could be real and that bad things happen in everyday places and happens with characters that you'd usually expect to be fun and happy that can be evil, Like a clown.
